Need For Project:
Multiple estray domestic sheep have been observed in the vicinity, and there is an urgent need to make fence improvements to create a double high fence barrier at most vulnerable locations and make improvements to outer field fence in other areas.
Objectives:
Upgrade low fence to high fence on north and northwest portion of property, improve low fence on southwest side, construct additional high fence on west boundary. Additional improvements as needed.

Relation To Management Plan:
From Statewide bighorn sheep management plan: a. Establish and maintain secure nursery herds of Rocky Mountain, California, and desert bighorn sheep. Locations for nursery herds will be selected with the goal of minimizing potential contact with domestic sheep or goats (measures including double fencing may be used to accomplish this goal). Nursery herds will be tested regularly to monitor for disease concerns. b. Use healthy bighorns from nursery herds to reestablish depopulated herds or to augment infected herds when deemed appropriate.
