Description:
The BLM is planning to install 30 miles of pipelines on the East side of the Pilot mountains. These pipelines will serve to better distribute cattle in an area that currently does not have any water sources. The BLM would like to contract the cultural surveys through WRI for this project.
Location:
Approximately 5 miles East of the Utah Nevada state line and 30 miles North of Wendover along the East side of the Pilot range.
Project Need
Need For Project:
Cultural resource surveys are required for ground disturbing activities on BLM land. BLM has available funding, but does not have the adequate staffing to complete the needed cultural surveys. Working through WRI in this process will facilitate the completion of this portion of this pipeline project.
Objectives:
Complete cultural surveys for livestock pipelines. These pipelines will lead to better distribution of livestock, helping the BLM attain land health standards on BLM land.
Project Location/Timing Justification (Why Here? Why Now?):
This area has very little available water for livestock and wildlife. This project would increase the amount of available water, leading to more even livestock distribution throughout the grazing allotment. The completion of the required cultural resource surveys will help the BLM complete this project in a timely manner.
Relation To Management Plan:
In line with BLM, county, and state management plans
Fire / Fuels:
