Final Methods
This area was a joint project between BLM and NRCS. NRCS funded the improvements on the allotment and the permittees completed the project. This is only the first phase of the project. The area was sheared and seeded.
*
Project Narrative
This has been a complicated project. The area was seeded in October but was not completed until early spring. This may impact the seeding over time. Additionally, the communication between all of the interested parties has been difficult. Future projects with private landowners, such as this, need to be communicated much better in order to meet project objectives.
*
Future Management
NRCS will pay for a follow-up treatment, to remove whips and small trees that will appear after the contract. The Farm Bill Biologist will work with BLM and the permittees to ensure that this happens.
