Project Narrative
Heaton Livestock had limited water on the Sevy or Long Valley estates areas of the north end of their property. This area holds high number of mule deer and some sage grouse areas, it's also crucial for grazing livestock in pasture rotation system. At the time of sign up there was a large storage tank, and a few drinkers for livestock and wildlife. After planning and implementation, Heaton's were able to tie into the Kane County water conservation district water source and pipe water to the existing storage tank, then add lines to take water to the north and south. 2 new additional troughs were installed, on the new lines. In all 2.8 miles of pipeline was installed. At the hook into the water conservation district, an electric pump pushes the water to the storage tank. Once the water gets to the storage tank the water can gravity feed parts of the system. To get water to the highest and newest portion of the system water has to be pumped, so at this point a solar pump was installed to push the water to the high point, from there the water gravity feeds the rest of the system.

Future Management
Heaton's will maintain and keep the system functioning for the use of Grazing Livestock and Wildlife. If further assistance is needed they will work with WRI, NRCS or the Grazing Improvement Program.
