During this phase of the project. mechanical thinning land occurred adjacent to and on private land. Some of these mechanical treatments were utilized to provide control lines for the prescribed fire portion of this phase of the project near Deep Lake and Duck Lake areas. Prescribed fire of high complexity was implemented around the Long Flat private land subdivision. Both aerial and hand ignition techniques were utilized to implement the prescribed fire. Multiple agencies such as BLM, UFFSL, UDWR, local fire department resources and other National Forests from Idaho and Utah assisted in the implementation of this prescribed fire. Seeding of high elevation grass mix also occurred within high intensity burn areas to allow for increased forage and quicker under story recovery that will reduce impacts to aspen from overbrowse.
