Final Methods
Seed was applied by Hammond Helicopter using both fixed winged and helicopter in December 2021. Chaining started January 13, 2022, using one set of D8 bulldozers. Due to the equipment shortages and workload it was determined to masticate approximately half the project. On January 26, 2022, Giles Construction started the mastication. Another set of D8 bulldozers was brought to the project in late February to assist with the chaining on this project. Due to number of archeologically sites we decided to lop and scatter the sites to better protect the sites and would fit better in the landscape. Fence was constructed around a SITLA section to protect it from wild horse overuse and to provide better management of livestock grazing.

Project Narrative
Seed was delivered and application started December 14, 2021. Seeding was completed on December 21, 2021. The Chaining began with one set of D8 bulldozers on January 13, 2022. It was determined in a meeting with all partners to masticate 1,557 acres of the treatment because of the lack equipment on the market. Giles Construction started mastication January 26, 2022 with 13 excavator style machines and finished on April 29, 2022. An additional set of D8 Bulldozers were added to the chaining in late February and the BLM ran both set of dozers 7 days of the week to avoid disturbance into breeding and nesting season. The Chaining was completed April 15, 2022. The lop and scatter was contracted to Summitt Forestry and they started the lop and scatter April 1, 2022 and were completed April 29, 2022.

Future Management
The permittee will not graze the treated areas for two growing seasons. Upon the end of two growing season the appropriate land management agency will discuss the grazing management determined by the recovery of the treated areas. UDWR Farm Bill Biologist will continue to monitor the treatment areas for the two growing seasons and establish some monitoring sites.
