DWR submitted a closed bid for the Cinnamon Creek property that SITLA put up for auction in 2021. Money was put forward by DWR, the Utah legislature, the Mule Deer Foundation, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the US Fish and Wildlife Service (WSFR), The Nature Conservancy, Sportsmen for Fish and Wildlife.

Project Narrative
The Cinnamon Creek property, formerly owned by SITLA, has been a popular hunting spot and wildlife habitat for many years. DWR and partners were able to submit the winning bid to SITLA to purchase the property and keep the land in public ownership. The property will now be managed as the DWR's 193rd WMA.

Future Management
The property is now owned fee-title by DWR and will be managed by the northern region as a Wildlife Management Area. The property will be open to the public for hunting and recreating and will close seasonally for wildlife. The northern region will work on habitat improvement projects as well as a Habitat Management Plan.
