Terri PopeJan 20, 2016, 5:53:55 PMI just thought you should be aware that there have been Western Yellow-billed Cuckoo sightings along this stretch of the river within the past 2-3 years and take to that into consideration with your project planning.

Jordan NielsonJan 21, 2016, 1:37:24 PMThank you. I was not aware that WYBC would inhabit that close to an urban area. Fortunately within the scope of this project there are already an abundance of mature cottonwood trees that would continue to provide habitat for them. We will defeinitely take food sources into consideration when removing Russian olive.

Brad JessopJan 27, 2016, 10:07:55 AMJordan, will you please post your email address so I can include you on the Central Region email list? Thanks.

Jordan NielsonJan 27, 2016, 10:10:35 AMHi Brad, my email is jnielson@tu.org. Do you have a date when you will be hearing project presentations?

Chris CrockettFeb 1, 2016, 12:11:21 PMThe potential leatherside chub population within the reach would be "Southern", not "Northern". You might touch base with some of the NRCS contacts on the Lower Spanish Fork CRMP if you'd like a second opinion on restoration design. Cheers

Jimi GraggFeb 1, 2016, 4:38:42 PMThanks for the proposal. I'd just suggest looking at the threats to species and habitats, and removing any that this project does not address. For example, a threat mentioned for BCT is basically "fishing". Whether that's true or not is a separate issue - but I think your proposal aims to increase fishing access, not reduce it. So...I don't think that particular threat is one you should include here. Look at the others too - there may be more, there may not.
-
Jordan NielsonFeb 1, 2016, 4:43:45 PMThanks Jimi. After going through this process with the SER UPCD I think some training on those threats is in order. It is not entirely clear how to handle all of those threats. Are they threats that will be addressed or threats that could be created by the project?

Jordan NielsonFeb 1, 2016, 4:45:47 PMAlso, this project aims to improve habitat that will benefit the recruitment of all fish species and reduce the impact of fishing pressure in the future.

Alan ClarkFeb 2, 2016, 5:12:49 AMShould the first $5000 in-kind in your funding be attributed to the City rather than TU since they will provide the supervision?
-
Jordan NielsonFeb 2, 2016, 5:32:13 AMSpanish Fork City should be listed instead of TU. The city was not an available entity when I entered the budget so I entered TU as a placeholder and requested Spanish Fork be on the list of available partners in the database. If the city is available in the database now we can change it from TU to Spanish Fork.
-
Tyler ThompsonFeb 2, 2016, 1:45:23 PMI've changed it to Spanish Fork
